Ombre Brows!
Ombre brows, babe. They'll alter yo' life!

I feel like I'm always having modify-your-life eyebrow episodes (countenance epiphanies, if yous will).

Buuuuuut any fourth dimension someone who's known y'all for years — in my case, agreeing dazzler lovers like my friend Alis, who cuts my hair, and Kim here on the blog (haaaay, Kim!) — and they notice something different about your await, it says something.

The very kickoff thing Alis said to me when I saw her concluding week was, "Did you lot practice something different to your brows?"

Why, yep, I take. 🙂

I've been doing more of an ombre forehead lately, and I take to say, it's been kind of — YES! Life changing.

Soft and subtle, yet bold at the same time, ombre brows are perfect for spring and summer because they can look really full and lush simply not overdone.

The ombre effect comes from using two dissimilar forehead colors, one lighter than the other. I learned well-nigh the technique from MAC Senior Artist Victor Cembellin at the MAC Pro Store a couple months back, and I utilise the same approach he showed me, with a slight brush modification.

For the inner part of my brows (the side closer to my nose, as opposed to the outer part toward the ear), I apply the lighter colour, in this case MAC Cork, a neutral matte brown, with a MAC 214 Short Shader Brush (Victor likes to use a pencil castor for this instead), filling from the far inside end of the brow to only near the summit of the arch.

Next, I make full in my arch and outer tail area of the brow using a dark brown eyeshadow, in this case MAC Brun, and the MAC 266, an angled eyeshadow brush.

After that, I brush through my brows using a small amount of Antastasia Articulate Brow Gel to mellow out the powder a little, and gear up the brow hairs and so that they don't become dancing in the wind!

The idea is for your brows to be a little lighter on the within and gradually darken toward the curvation and outer tail for natural, lush-looking brows.

For the lighter color yous use on the inner portion of your brow, aim for a colour close to your natural forehead color, considering if you become too light or dark, the slope transition may await less natural.

Then, yeah! Give it a try sometime if y'all like the await of bold brows but don't desire your fuzzy li'50 caterpillars to await too harsh or astringent. 🙂

Ombre brows 4-life, girlfriend! (Or beau, if yous're one of the v dudes reading this.)

Your friendly neighborhood (brow) addict,

Karen

P.S. Happy Thursday, BTW.
